Here is a beautiful hymn about the Providence of God in the lives of His children. It was written by William Cowper (1731 -1800) - an English poet and hymn-writer. Be Blest!
Music: Scottish melody
God Bless,
God Moves in a Mysterious Way
God moves in a mysterious way
His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.
Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works His sovereign will.
Ye fearful saints, fresh courage take;
The clouds ye so much dread
Are big with mercy and shall break
In blessings on your head.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face.
His purposes will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.
Lyrics: William CowperBlind unbelief is sure to err
And scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter,
And He will make it plain.
Music: Scottish melody

Thank you Sarah, it was a true blessing to read those words, and be reminded among other things to "trust Him for His grace" instead of judging Him by feeble sense. Psalm 37 is a good reminder of this, too.
Yes, Maddy. This is one of my favourite hymns/poems. It really reminds us of how God is always working out everything for our good even when we don't see it yet. Yes, Psalm 37 reminds us of this and so does Romans 8.
God bless.
